Muse


This editorial was the final project done for Muse Magazine by Maya. The climax of her role as Head of Editorials, this shoot focused on the way we use our appearances to metamorphose.Over the course of 5 days, with the collaboration of a hair stylist, and photographer, Maya underwent 5 hair cuts; from long tresses to a smooth buzz, each version is unrecognizable. Painting the image of ourselves as grown up barbie dolls, who says we have to stop playing with them.








Paper Orange

Paper Orange was an editorial for Muse Magazine Issue XXIII which intended to provide a commentary on the pandemic and historical hospital garb. The oranges satirize the infodemic of misinformation pertaining the coronavirus. The garments were reconstructed by Maya for the shoot to create a mother-daughter association between the two models.











Flora

Flora was an editorial for Muse Magazine Issue XXII, and intended to make a commentary on the “ideal woman” as a 50s “house flower”. The underwire corseted apron was handmade by Maya, to illustrate the societal constrains upon women even in the home.
 




YEE MOTHERF#&*ING Haw


YEE MOTHERF#&*ING HAW was an editorial for Muse Magazine Issue XXII, and meant to spotlight the revival of “tex mex” fashion trends and utility garments becoming fashion garments. The hats, and chaps were handmade by Maya.






Olivia

This was Maya’s first published editorial, done for Muse Magazine Issue XX. It indended to create a surrealistic image of luxury and excess.
